Facial Balancing Treatment in London

Restore proportion and harmony, and still look like you

Facial balancing uses small amounts of dermal filler, placed with precision in the cheeks, jawline and chin, to bring your features back into proportion. The aim is a face that looks rested and in harmony, without looking treated. Every treatment is carried out by Sheridan France, a nurse prescriber with over 20 years in facial aesthetics, at her clinic in Fitzrovia, Central London.

What is facial balancing?

A face reads as attractive and youthful when its features sit in proportion: the cheeks, the jawline, the chin, the nose and the lips, and the upper, middle and lower thirds of the face. When one area is flatter, shorter or less defined than the others, the whole face can look unbalanced, tired or heavier than it is.

Facial balancing (also called facial rebalancing or facial harmonisation) looks at the face as a whole. Sheridan maps your facial structure and then places hyaluronic acid filler where support or projection is missing, so each feature works with the others. Because the plan is built around structure, far less product is usually needed than when individual lines are filled one by one.

Who is it for?

  • Faces that look unbalanced or asymmetric, or where one side looks fuller than the other
  • A short or receding chin that makes the lower third of the face look smaller
  • Flat cheeks or mid-face volume loss that makes the face look tired or drawn
  • A soft or undefined jawline, from the front or in profile
  • Previous filler that looks heavy or uneven and needs correcting

If filler is not the right answer for you, Sheridan will tell you at your consultation.

The Sheridan France approach

  • Structure first, lines second. Cheekbones, jawline and chin are rebuilt first. When structure is restored, many lines soften on their own.
  • Placement, not quantity. The minimum effective amount goes exactly where support has been lost.
  • Lighter products. Soft hyaluronic acid fillers chosen to blend into the tissue, so results look natural and avoid puffiness.
  • Tailored to you. Every plan starts from your own anatomy, never a standard template.
  • Dissolvable filler. Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if ever needed.

A patient's journey: Ella's facial balancing

Ella’s treatment shows how facial balancing is often done in stages, over about six weeks.

  1. Consultation. Ella felt her face looked unbalanced, with noticeable asymmetry. Sheridan assessed her facial structure in detail and planned treatment around restoring balance.
  2. Treatment day. Filler was placed in the cheeks to rebuild support, alongside a chemical peel. Her face looked more lifted and balanced straight away, with the mild swelling that is normal in the first days.
  3. Two weeks later. The swelling had settled and her features looked softer. With the cheeks restored, it was clear the lower third of her face was short, so a small amount of chin filler was planned.
  4. Final result. After the chin filler, Ella’s face looked lifted and balanced, and completely natural.

Your treatment, step by step

  1. Send us your photos. Send a few photos of your face for a free, no-obligation assessment. Sheridan will tell you whether facial balancing is right for you before you come in.
  2. Your consultation. Meet Sheridan at the clinic, or by video call. She talks through your goals, explains the treatment and builds a plan around your facial anatomy. There is no pressure to book.
  3. The treatment. Treatment takes around 60 to 90 minutes. Numbing cream is applied first, and filler is placed layer by layer for comfort and precision.
  4. Results and review. Some swelling or bruising is normal for the first few days. Results settle over two to four weeks, and a complimentary review appointment is offered if needed.

Aftercare and planning around events

Some swelling or bruising is normal for a few days. To help your results settle:

  • Avoid touching the treated areas, and do not wear make-up, for 4 hours
  • Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours
  • Avoid heat, such as saunas, hot drinks and direct sun, for 72 hours
  • If you are flying soon after treatment, travel with an ice pack, as flying can increase swelling

Planning for a wedding or big event? Book at least two to four weeks ahead, so any swelling has settled and any follow-up can be done beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

Both use dermal filler to restore structure. Facial balancing focuses on proportion and symmetry between your features, at any age. A liquid facelift focuses on lifting a face that has lost volume with age. Many plans combine the two, and Sheridan will recommend what suits your face.

The face is a sensitive area, so numbing cream is applied before treatment and most fillers also contain a local anaesthetic. Careful placement techniques keep discomfort to a minimum.

Usually less than patients expect. Small amounts are placed strategically across the cheeks, jawline and chin rather than a large volume in one area, which gives a more natural result.

Typically 12 to 18 months, depending on the products used, the areas treated and your own metabolism.

Most patients return to work the next day or within a day or two. There may be mild swelling or bruising for the first few days.

Often, yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, and the face then rebalanced more conservatively. Read more about filler asymmetry correction.

Book at least two to four weeks before a wedding or big event, so swelling has settled and any follow-up can be done in time.

The cost depends on the areas treated and the products used. Sheridan will give you a clear plan and price at your consultation, with no obligation to book and no upselling.
